Pinpoint Cafe

Cute coffee place sitting on a hill with the most beautiful view of the pacific ocean (see pictures, sunset is a must see from here). Coffee is delicious and strong! Staff is very friendly and delight to be around. Great place to work or catch up with friends! and Claudia plays awesome bangers . Will miss this place as I move out of town but definitely coming back whenever I am in San Diego!!

Even though Pinpoint Cafe was closed when we arrived, the location alone made the visit worth it! Situated at 8755 Biological Grade in La Jolla, it’s a perfect spot to sit, soak up the sun, and take in the stunning ocean views. Peaceful, scenic, and a great place to relax—can’t wait to come back when they’re open!

Absolutely loved my visit to Pinpoint Coffee in La Jolla! I stopped in for a cappuccino and was genuinely blown away—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. Easily one of the best I’ve had in San Diego. The vibe of the place is cozy and welcoming, and the barista was incredibly friendly, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast or just looking for a chill spot to relax, this place is a gem. Highly recommend—5 stars all the way!

Come here if you like great coffee and a sea view. There are a few tables to sit and enjoy the scenery. Highly recommended if you’re in the La Jolla Shores area. Although parking is limited and you will probably need to walk five minutes, it’s totally worth it! They are closed on the weekends.

As much as I enjoyed Pinpoint, it’s very out of the way and not easy to get to. Parking is in the street and then a walk, which is fine. I got the açaí bowl, not my favorite one, but solid enough. Great chill feel, but in my opinion, not worth going out go out of the way for. Definitely great for the employees who are already here. If you don’t work here you can skip it. They have other locations.

Love the view and the atmosphere! The coffee is great and so the food! There’s no parking but you can park on the street and have a short walk to the place!

Little walk-up cafe on the UCSD campus. All outdoors. Wonderful view of Scripps Pier and the ocean. I had a waffle and matcha. The waffle was itty bitty but tasted fine. My drink was good too. Was surprisingly busy and difficult to find a seat. I'd recommend it if you're looking for casual spot with decent food in the area. Note, this is also pretty much the only spot for refreshments / food in the area. No restroom.

The food was perfectly prepared- we had the salmon on toast. The bread was delicious and fresh. The salmon was delicious and the presentation of the dish was amazing. There’s lots of love being shared here. And the Mocha ala Mexican was delicious too. Great team here at Scripps! Gracias a Claudia, Pedro y Carlos. And the reggae music was spot on. Who’s the DJ? Come here often!
